The New Zealand Leadership Institute. The overall purpose of NZLI is to enhance the understanding of leadership in New Zealand and take action to ensure the country has talented and skilled leaders who will develop, guide and advance our organisations and communities. They are a research, education and development Institute based at the University of Auckland Business School. They are heavily invested in research to pursue their goal of creating a meeting place between academia and practice. Lisa was the inaugural Programme Director for the Community Leadership Programme and the Future Leaders Programme as well as co-facilitator for other programmes including the Hillary Programme for CEO's and Senor Management.

The Institute for Strategic Leadership offers 5 and 7 day leadership development training for chief executives and senior management in business and public organisations. Lisa is a Team and Individual Coach and facilitator on these programmes.

This is a North America based organisation passionate about nurturing spirit in the business world.

Ivey Management Services provides this great resource.  The articles are downloadable in PDF form.

Heaps of information about Emotional Intelligence, what it is, how it is relevant, training available etc.

HeartMath (US based) provides services and tools to boost performance, productivity, health and well-being while dramatically reducing stress. I use some of their biofeedback type technology to show how you can impact your physiological response with your breathing, your mind and your heart.

Site of the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Clinic based at the Medical School of Massachusetts University.  This is the Work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli, and Jim Carmody.  Jim is actually a New Zealander based in the States and I have enjoyed extensive training and mindfulness meditation retreats with him.  This is a great site to find research around mindfulness.    


About Sport:

Official Site of New Zealand Sport Science.  Provides a useful list of NZ accredited Sport Science Providers including Sport and Exercise Psychologists.  These providers have reached a quantifiable standard of expertise and are registered to provide services to the NZ Academy of Sport.  Athletes who are “carded” (Elite recognised athletes) are eligible for a certain number of funded sessions with specified providers.  Lisa Markwick is an Accredited Provider in the area of Sport and Exercise Psychology.  

Michael Smyth from Sports counsel is a NZ Barrister and Solicitor.  He specialises in Sport Law and Sponsorship and Sport Event Management. He regularly up-grades his site and includes a number of relevant and timely articles.

This is the site of JoAnn Dahlkoetter Sport Psychologist.  It has lots of great hints which are relevant not only for peak performance in Sport but also in life and business.

Lester Hall is a NZ artist, based in the Bay of Islands.  He produces originals on Tapa, Masi and Canvas, and also a beautiful selection of Limited Edition prints of NZ fish. Icons to meditate on!
